THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HARDWIRED AND WIRELESS SECURITY SYSTEMS
Hardwired System: Has a separate main control panel which houses the "brains" of the system and is the power supply
for the entire system. Each peripheral device such as keypads, sirens, door sensors, motion sensors, smoke sensors,
glass break sensors, etc. are wired directly to the main control panel. An ideal hardwired installation would be for a
home or business that has a full basement with no ceiling or has a drop ceiling allowing access to run low voltage wiring
without exposing the wires. With a hardwired system, the door sensors are virtually unseen. Each door sensor includes a
magnet and a switch, the switch is wired from the main control panel and embedded into the door frame, the magnet is
inserted across from the switch directly into the door.
Wireless System with a Separate Main Control Panel: which houses the "brains" of the system. Each keypad and
siren are directly wired to the main control panel. All peripheral zoned devices such as door sensors, motion sensors,
smoke sensors, glass break sensors, etc. are battery operated. Batteries typically need to be changed every 2-3 years.

Self Contained Wireless System: Has integrated keypad and siren built in to the main control panel. All peripheral
zoned devices such as door sensors, motion sensors, smoke sensors, glass break sensors, etc. are battery operated.

Wireless Communication We are currently utilizing the latest in mobile communications technology - 4G and LTE These GSM 4G and LTE devices are specifically manufactured for security alarm systems to communicate with the central station via local cell tower signals. Eliminates the need for a land based phone line. |
FYI:
Power supply for the main control panel plugs into a standard wall outlet.
All systems contain a 12V battery to temporarily power the security system in case of power loss to your home.

PREWIRE
If you are building or remodeling a home or business it is always a great idea to prewire (before the insulation and
drywall go up) for a hardwired security system. This allows you the option of placing devices in any convenient location
you would like them such as a keypad in the master or at the basement entry and allows all door sensors to be unseen.
A hardwired system also eliminates the hassle and expense of changing batteries in each peripheral zoned device.
